So after an almost decade long hiatus since my first attempts at practicing Enochian Magick I am beginning my journey with the Enochian Angels again in earnest and have already learned more about how these last few months than I have in all my years.
I've finished construction of most of the many and elaborate ritual tools necessary and/or recommended. I have the Pele Ring, the Tablet of Nalvage, the Elemental Tablets, the Black Cross, the Tablet of Union, and have the Enochian Holy Table fully painted as of yesterday. I also have the Lamen constructed and bought the 5 Sigillum Dei Aemeths online from a shop one city over from me. I have yet to construct the 7 Ensigns though which according to most people would be the only thing I'm missing. But I believe there is one more thing or rather set of things I need to craft for my rituals, which brings me to the topic of John Dee's ancient and mysterious set of communications from the Enochian Angels, the Liber Loagaeth.
To the untrained eye everything in it beyond the introduction are just 48 sets of stylized incomprehensible words in an alien language. And everyone who has studied it would agree it is an alien language or angelic language , specifically that of the Enochian Angels ( whom may or not be angels according to whom you ask about them ) but I disagree on the idea of it being incomprehensible at least for what purpose they serve.
It is my current educated guess that these are additional Lamens to be worn when reciting the 48 Enochian Calls and not just from the number of them lining up one for one ( and not all worn at once , gods bless your heart if you thought that ) but also from certain details about them that further indicate such.
First of all it according to John Dee's writings on the Liber Loagaeth the Enochian Angels told him specifically that they were communicating the 48 plates in Reverse Order beginning with the Last and working backwards to end with the First ( for safety reasons due to their immense power ) similar to how each of the main 19 Enochian Calls were each dictated backwards letter by letter so as not to activate them from the transmission. Secondly the first 18 Enochian Calls are distinct from the 19th as they are for working with the Angels of the Elements whereas the 19th ( which is the basis of the additional Calls 20 to 48 by swapping out one Divine Name with another specific one for each ) through 48th are used for Scrying and Exploring the 30 Aethyrs, which line up with the 30 Aeons under Barbelo and the Unbegotten Father in Valentinian Gnosticism. Thirdly the " last " 18 Plates in Liber Loagaeth all follow the same diamond shaped pattern for the placement of the words and letters therein wheres the " first " 30 are all square shaped blocks of writing.
These 3 factors combine to make me think these last 18 plates line up in reverse order with the first 18 Enochian Calls, those of the Elemental Table and Black Cross and that the first 30 in reverse order line up with Calls 19 to 48, the 30 Calls of the Aethyrs. I never read this anywhere but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm not the only one who knows this.
So long story short I think I may have 48 additional Lamens to craft starting with those of whichever Enochian Calls I plan to perform. Not necessarily necessary as many have gotten great success without them, but as an amplifier and what the ancient Greeks would call a Symbolon to increase the connection.
Pictured below is my finished Enochian Holy Table minus the Sigillum Dei Aemeth , Black Cross, Elemental Tablets, Tablet of Union, and my Crystal Ball which I have since placed back on top of it in their rightful places. Anyway I hope you found this interesting and I'll keep you posted on my progress with the Magick itself but as is custom and common courtesy I will reveal nothing of my experiences with the 30 Aethyrs as one should always only learn about those from first hand experience and it is considered a great disservice to spoil the mystery of them by describing them to those who have not seen them or worked with them.
Theos Ei, my friends. Until next time :3
