I Want to be the next Rosaleen norton

There are quite a few artists I could name as influences on my art. HR Gieger, Gustav Klimt, Frances Bacon to name a few. But all pale compared to the inspiration and influence of Rosaleen Norton on my life and work

She truly was an amazing person. A self proclaimed and practicing Witch in conservative New Zealand, painting pagan gods and Daimons, doing astral travel in the Qabalistic Tree of Life AND Tree of Death, practicing Sex Magick, facing off against Censors and the Police confiscating her artwork for obscenity and generally harassing her. She was a truly remarkable and vivacious woman with a beautiful mind and considerable talent. I wish I would've known her. Now it's a little late. She lives on in my heart though and I hope to be even half as skilled, bold, based, wise, and prolific as her. Here's a good video about her. Enjoy
